On July 10, 2025, some armed kidnappers attacked Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary in Edo State, Nigeria and abducted three seminarians - Japhet Jesse, Joshua Aleobua, and Emmanuel Alabi, aged 15-16.
8 days later, July 18th, they released one of the kidnapped seminarians - Japhet Jesse, leaving two still in captivity.
Today, November 4th, after almost four months in captivity, the kidnappers again released one of the seminarians - Joshua Aleobua. Sadly, the third seminarian - Emmanuel Alabi could not make it out alive. He lost his life in the course of the ordeal.
This is tragic and heartbreaking. How many more lives must be lost before we wake up? One innocent life lost is already a tragedy.
May the soul of Emmanuel find rest in peace and may God console his family🙏🏿
