As we kick off King Holiday week, I am thinking not only of my father, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but also of my mother, Coretta Scott King—the architect and steward of the King legacy.
My mother understood that my father’s work could not live only in memory. She insisted it must be protected, taught, and practiced. Because of her vision, The King Center exists not simply to honor what was, but to equip people to live out what must be.
Together, my parents gave the world more than words. They offered a philosophy and a way of life—rooted in nonviolence, justice, truth, and love—that calls us to create the Beloved Community in our time.
As this week begins, my hope is that we move beyond remembrance and recommit ourselves to action: to learning, to practicing nonviolence, and to building the kind of world my parents believed was possible—one grounded in dignity, compassion, and shared responsibility.
I hope you will join us—virtually or in person—as we reflect, learn, and continue this work together: https://t.co/8ihcV5N5Cr

@BearsMom73@Bakari_Sellers Well, @BearsMom73 the rest of us know what you are. You ignorant. Maybe YOU should stick to responding to what you do know. @Bakari_Sellers can't wait to see your next commentary simulcast on CNN AND ESPN 😂🤣😂
It’s a shame that the kindest person gets the most backlash — especially when the same people doing all the talking have favorite players who love her.
Social media has turned into a playground for cowards hiding behind fake profiles.
Your words don’t stop any motion.
@cjgproduxions I love this pic and 🤣 at the comments from those who really don't understand what it's saying. Meanwhile, let me go get ANOTHER CUP #iykyk
@BA_turtle_BS All you salty folk can just go sit down somewhere and FORGET IT. Lay is NOT coming to play for your favorite team. And this not the end...One loss and the vultures circling, trying to grab a player to help their sorry teams. Sit back and watch the comeback! 😆
@SlickTweetsSC @bmbrbauer I, too, was an unwanted pregnancy, and my mother could have chosen abortion and did not, thank God. But the point is: both our mothers had a CHOICE. Every woman should be counseled on her options and have the right to a safe procedure if she chooses abortion.
