▫️World Bank approves Eskom application for legal separation of the Transmission Division.

This is a condition of the IMF and World Bank loans the government of Cyril Ramaphosa has been taking. Breaking down an institution like Eskom. Once fully operational, the Transmission Division will be mandated to procure electricity from European owned Independent Power Producers who will also make use of existing Eskom transmission infrastructure rent free. South Africa has lost control of power generation to the private sector, and there is no bigger threat to national security than this. When you cannot control the national power grid you might as well rest your army. Well, the IMF has mandated the government to cut down on army and police force, the remaining ones will be used to protect European and American interests in other African countries.

This move is going to breed a new form of monopoly (over the grid),and price collusion by Independent Power Producers. The IPPs could decide to also sell electricity to other customers from other countries at higher prices than the ones National Transmission Company can accept. On top of that the IPPs are going to be accumulating massive carbon credits for resale from their activities. Where Transmission utilizes coal generated power, it will have to offset that through purchase of carbon credits from IPPs inorder to satisfy the carbon budget that is going to be set by the Minister of Environmental Affairs once the Climate Change Act comes into force. Any price increases from IPPs will be passed on to consumers.

The current stages of loadshedding are meant to act as a catalyst for the final destruction of Eskom, this World Bank consent is designed to give citizens hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel when in actual fact the tunnel is being destroyed.

All this is linked to the climate crime of Just Energy Transition , Climate Emergency, and Climate Crisis. South Africa is going to be presenting this as one of its climate adaptation milestones at the upcoming #COP28UAE #COP28 which starts on the 30th of November 2023 in Dubai. It is all well timed.
