発表にあった通りW杯メンバーから離脱する事になりました。
怪我をしてからここまで、自分にできることは全てやってきたので何も後悔はありません。

もちろん今回のW杯に出場できない悔しさはありますが、それよりもカタールW杯後からキャプテンとしてこのチームを引っ張り「W杯優勝」という目標を当たり前に口にできる集団へと一緒に成長してこれた事を誇りに思います。

今のチームは本当に素晴らしいチームです。
どんな逆境も乗り越え、まだ見たことのない景色を見せてくれると思います。

自分は今回の活動をもって代表を引退する事にします。
なので、これからは1人のファンとして日本代表を応援していきます。
将来、日本代表がW杯で優勝する瞬間は必ずきます。
それを信じてみんなで応援しましょう。

そしてその瞬間が今大会になるように、日本の力を１つにしてみんなで北中米W杯挑んでいきましょう！！

Saw all kinds of excuses for Slot’s off-ball coaching this season. It shows people can come up with excuses for anything if they try hard enough. You cannot simultaneously be poor at coaching a high press, mid-block, defending transitions & defending set-pieces which is what that Liverpool run vs Chelsea, Man Utd & Aston Villa perfectly summarised for the whole season. There is simply no excuse for that which relates to how the squad has been compiled. It is a byproduct of not treating defending seriously enough on the training ground.

There’s a clear similarity between Florian Wirtz and Roberto Firmino situations. Both were played under managers who constantly used them out of position and never fully understood how to unlock their strengths.

Many teams have exploited Slot’s zonal, M2M midfield & + 1 in the backline whereby it looks like Sunday league defending with players not picking up their men or look isolated with overloads.
