@gavreilly Farage is a definitely a risk but his style of politics may not be best suited to first past the post. He may always struggle to win majorities in middle england
@gavreilly Labour lost a lot of vote share to independents, greens & Lib Dem’s. It gave up big majorities in the cities to spread its vote across middle england. That’s the key to success in the first past the post system
Ireland’s per capita spend on rail is still just 41% of the UK, 31% of Holland and 18% of Austria. Expanding the reach and capacity of the network including the #westernrailcorridor is a must for #sustainable transport & carbon reduction

What I love about cycling. Right now the #TourdeFrance peloton is climbing the Col de Joux Plane. I did the very same climb (much more slowly!) in 2016. Most GAA fans will never play on the hallowed turf of Croke Park. Most tennis fans will never play Wimbledon, but us amateur cyclists can share beautiful roads with the greats, on any day.
The Licensed Vintners Association has confirmed that “several pubs across Dublin are expected to broadcast the Oireachtas Committee meetings” with Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly next Tuesday.
