If I ever become President, before I introduce any policy - I have a long list of death penalties to become law first.
Sexual assault on children = death
Murder = death
Embezzlement=death
Kidnapping=death
Terrorism=death
Incest=death
False rape accusers & rapists = death.
South Korea is investing almost $900bn to rival China and the US as an AI superpower.
To ensure enough home-grown talent, primary school children are taught robotics and how to code.
What can you say for your own country?
Now that Cristiano Ronaldo has quit international football unceremoniously, let's talk about CR7 vs the media
What exactly did Cristiano Ronaldo do to the media?
And please, spare me the usual "arrogance" narrative
That is one of the biggest narratives the media created around his character
So, what exactly was Ronaldo's offence?
I have been watching football for a very long time
Not just watching, I read and pay attention to details, I have never seen a player vilified by the media like Ronaldo
From 2006 to 2026, that's 20 years of football
For most of that period, the media narrative around Ronaldo was relentlessly negative
Ronaldo had two major rivalries throughout his career
The first was with the media, the second was Lionel Messi
The media battle started first
Was his offence because he said he is the greatest player of all time?
Was it because he oozed confidence?
Was it because he believed in himself?
Was it because he talked, did it and delivered?
In 2012, it got to Ronaldo so badly that he asked his agent, Jorge Mendes:
"What is my offence with the media?"
Mendes didn't have an answer
He reached out to Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué and asked him the same question:
"What exactly did Ronaldo do to the media?"
Do you know how crazy that is?
The level of scrutiny had become so intense that even Ronaldo himself was trying to understand what he had done to deserve it
The only way Ronaldo could consistently fight back was on the pitch
Every time the media questioned him, he answered with performances
And whenever there was a dip in his form, the same headline would appear:
"Ronaldo is finished"
That statement followed him repeatedly, especially after injury in 2014 but he proved them wrong
Ronaldo had to develop a thick skin because he couldn't control the narrative
Football fans are fickle, and the Ronaldo-Messi rivalry made everything even worse
Sensational headlines travelled faster than facts, hence fans swallow narrative without checking what was actually said
I have had to post the exact quote because many fans don't read beyond the headline
Left to the media, Ronaldo should have retired about 10 years ago
And what made it worse?
Former players joined the conversation
Thierry Henry, as brilliant as he is as a pundit, will lose all objectivity whenever the discussion turns to Cristiano Ronaldo
John Mikel Obi openly said he doesn't like Ronaldo because he considers him arrogant
Before Ronaldo scored his 800th career goal, former France and Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf was asked on ESPN whether Ronaldo could reach 800 goals
Instead of analysis, he made jest and mocked CR7
Ronaldo was still at Manchester United when he reached the milestone
At Juventus, the media created this strange narrative that Ronaldo's goals were hurting Juventus
A player scored 101 goals in three seasons and somehow became the problem?
How?
What would the criticism have been if he had scored only 50?
Probably even worse
Yet that narrative stuck that people now talked down on goals and made it overrated in football
There was never a time in football when scoring goals became something that could negatively affect your team until the 'Ronaldo-at-Juventus' narrative became popular
The media turned Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini interviews into Ronaldo being the problem
The same thing happened when he returned to Manchester United
Suddenly, Ronaldo was the problem again
In Portugal, he became the problem according to the media
That's why he should have quit after the 2026 FIFA World Cup
Ronaldo is not perfect, he has his character flaws like everyone
20 years of character assasination
20 years of wrong narratives and agenda
20 years of labeling him as the villain
Ronaldo went to war against the media
He came
He saw
He fought
He conquered
An inspiration to billions
A blessing to football
A phenomenon that may never be repeated
CR7, let's get the 1,000 goals
SIUUUUUUU 🐐
Cristiano’s first career mistake wasn’t his fault, it was a lottery of birth. Other goats were born Brazilian or Argentine (natural cheat code), he was born Portuguese.
Wasn’t supposed to lift a major Int’l trophy, talk more 3. He changed Fate & for that, his legacy is eternal.
A man tells you he left 2billion naira and another 75billion naira in a state government account number in First Bank, in the year 2014 after he left office as governor of Anambra.
He told you the amount,
He told you the bank account number,
He told you the name of the bank,
He told you the amount he left.
He then crowns it all by saying IF you find his claims to be false, he will stop campaigning. The state governor should simply post the statement account for the state in 2014 to disprove him IF he is lying. But the foolish governor of the state is busy making stupid statements.
My goodness. This is not even about politics. But Peter Obi is just simply exemplary and exceptional.
Okwute na man you be!!!!
There’s a certain kind of school chaos that only happens in boarding school.
So one day I woke up and my uniform skirt was gone.
I searched everywhere. Nothing.
I went to class wearing a sweater tied around my waist like I’m in a drama or something
After class I saw another girl wearing my skirt.
MY SKIRT.
Same tear at the pocket. Same faded button. Same everything.
I said:
“Is that mine?”
She looked me dead in the eye and said:
“No, it’s mine.”
MINE??
I said:
“Okay. Remove it.”
She said:
“Why?”
I said:
“Because if it’s yours, you can remove it and still have it.”
The dorm went silent.
She refused.
So I went to the matron.
We checked her suitcase.
Inside were 3 skirts.
All mine.
And the funniest part? She cried and said:
“I don’t know how they got there.”
As if my clothes teleported into her bag for vacation.
I really don't remember when last a post of mine has drawn such widespread insults. It shows that quite a bunch of Nigerians are largely uneducated, despite going to school; while some are pretty naive or unable to hold constructive arguments. The remaining set of people was constantly shifting the goal post, while some just misunderstood my statement.
I deeply respect those who were able to engage with me constructively with data and reasoning.
I didn't even disagree with his statement, but just said my own side of the issue. And what if I disagreed?
Firstly, I want to set it straight that I'm not pro-Western or pro-Eastern. I really don't give a damn of this entire "pro" game some are playing here. I use Chinese products, I use American products. I invest in US markets, I invest in Chinese markets.
I'm only concerned with what is best for us.
I quite acknowledge it all.
1. Some, or a bunch of Chinese companies, have poor working conditions and don't treat their workers right. The truth is that Chinese companies—whether it’s Huawei, CCECC, or Tecno—operate according to the laws and enforcement of the country they are in. The way they'll behave in Nigeria or Ethiopia would be different from Germany due to stronger labour laws.
Strong institutions naturally suffice.
Chinese companies are in countries around the world.
2. SALARIES: The yuan is significantly weaker than the dollar. Hence, you don't expect them to match that offered by Western giants. Remember, one of the major reasons the USA offshores production to China is the cheap labour, which benefits them. This way, they can focus on the core design of their systems.
Hence, they've turned that loophole in their favour
Every country in the world would do you dirty if you don't stand your ground. It's true that the Chinese undergo illegal mining and offer poor working conditions. However, in the same America, we have heard of Nigerian politicians using the real estate market to wash embezzled funds and engage in drugs.
Is it really just a matter of the country? Countries of the world do what's best for them. The game is brutal but fair
In economics, the theory of comparative cost advantage "posits that international trade benefits all parties if nations specialize in producing goods with lower opportunity costs, rather than just those they produce more efficiently."
Rather than viewing any side as "good" or "bad", Nigeria needs to utilize the specializations of BOTH sides to achieve the growth it desires based on our current stage of economic development. This very specialization of the East was my point in this post.
While the Americas excel at software and finance, the Chinese are the manufacturing hub of the world and excel in infrastructure.
Before pouring capital into sophisticated stuff, the Chinese poured money into core infrastructure like roads, electricity, internet connectivity, healthcare, and energy. This core infrastructure was vital for where it is today.
How? By creating a system that allowed the best minds to come together, innovate, and compete at scale.
Before creating robust apps, they solved structural issues.
It's also evident in the sort of investments they undertake. While American VCs have given out billions to founders (which is amazing), China often partners with the state to deploy infrastructure
While VC is good, if we don't solve our core infrastructural problems, we would be running in circles for a very long time. This IS my point
The USA has solved its infrastructural problems long ago. In my sector, healthcare, I have directly seen the impact of such. Africa has received billions in aid over years which of course is great. However, when aid stalled last year, 25 years of progress was disrupted. It created over reliance on capital
Africa's issues are more systemic and structural now more than ever.
You could shove it off, but like I say, "the end justifies the means".
Samson, CFA is a capitalist, but he gets it
People see me on TV
They see the suits
They see the stage
They see the lights
What they don’t see?
The nights I slept in my car
The shows where nobody laughed
The rejection
The “no’s”
The doubt
Success didn’t come overnight
It came over years
Years of faith
Years of getting back up
Years of believing when I had zero evidence
Some of y’all are discouraged because it hasn’t happened yet
Let me tell you something:
If God gave you the dream, He already factored in the delay
The delay is not denial
It’s development
You don’t see the roots growing under the ground —
but that don’t mean the tree ain’t coming
Don’t quit
Don’t shrink your dream because it’s taking time
You’re not behind
You’re being built
And when it finally shows up?
They’re going to call you “lucky”
Keep going
