@DanielLHinton That is wild ! Governments used the people to pay for the war and when people don't, they pay for it with corrupt tactics. All while continuing to raise taxes and keep politicians richer. Its not right!
Thanks for listening brother!
Every Sunday in a mega church. Its literally impossible to go deep with everyone you see and half-heartedly meet.
It was exhausting having this conversation over and over. I avoid it now. My circle is tight and if a friendship flourishes naturally, that’s what I invest in.
The 9th best team in the SEC just beat the best team in the “best conference ever” Big 12, but the 4th best team in the SEC wasn’t good enough for the tourney apparently.
There are some good hearts in CCM.
BUT, CCM unfortunately is mostly influenced by fame and money now. The Christian music industry uses the reason, “this is about worshipping God” to hide behind their selfish ambitions of making a ton of money.
This is a microcosm of the shift in CCM around 2000, when praise & worship became the most profitable game in town and creative lyricism was pureed into nebulous rah-rah spiritual jargon.
The irony is that the same 2 brilliant guys, Steve Taylor & Peter Furler, wrote both songs.
If you know of a church in Europe that doesn’t have worship songs in their heart language, I’d love to work with them and produce, mix, master their worship songs in exchange for their friendship and a hot local meal.
@allyyarid Ok, I somewhat agree but if you want to make a difference for Christ, then get off Twitter & go preach the gospel to the 4 billion people to don’t know Jesus rather than dividing the bride with blanket statements.
Stuck in between hating that so many people are moving to TN and being grateful that it’s so amazing that people want to move here.
The cost of living has doubled but there is more opportunity for community and sharing the love of Christ.
A true love/hate for me.
Church folks tell me, “Don’t trust people, look to God!” But that’s the problem. Too often the only one I had was God. Not the people. This is very sad to me. I love the church. But I often find Christ outside those walls. I go inside & Christ is still outside.
I've been doing freelance music work for someone that doesn't show any interest in my personal life, goals, or future plans.
After reading #RadicalCandor, I will never again work for a boss who is not invested in the life of their workers.
But still, I am grateful for work.
the more I work the more I realize that our brains were designed for small community.
the more I scroll social media the more I realize our brains weren't designed to carry the burden of every single tragic accident in the world.
