Ben Affleck says the "high-school bullying" of Tom Cruise's "Digger" will only lead to Hollywood studios making more "sh*tty" movies.
"Everybody wants to celebrate this bomb as if it’s the most exciting thing to happen. And you think like, it’s a pretty ambitious, interesting movie made by interesting people who have talent. Everybody wants to count the money, what it lost or whatever. To me, I just think, if you punish movies that take risks, guess what you're going to get? A bunch of sh*tty homogenized movies. You cannot do something interesting without taking a big swing. And that means you're going to sometimes look bad." (via Happy Sad Confused)

🚨 OFFICIAL: Lisandro Martínez releases new statement after meeting with Carrick and club directors.
“Today I met with the club’s leadership and the manager. It was a very positive conversation, where we were able to exchange views and speak openly about what happened after the game”.
“Everyone knows that I am a passionate person and that I live football with great intensity. The frustration of the defeat led me to express how I felt at a time and place that perhaps were not the right ones, and for that I want to apologise”.
“Our club is at its best when we are all united, and I recognise that my words in that moment did not help with that”.
“I know that every single person at Manchester United is doing everything possible to achieve our shared ambition: bringing the success that this club and its supporters deserve”.

There's literally no point in having a Saudi Arabia masters event. Players are rightfully talking about burnout and excessive mandatory tournaments and now you squeeze in an entirely newly created 1000 event under the scorching heat.
ATP announces major changes planned for 2028.
ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi has outlined a series of proposed changes to the men's tour.
Here’s what could change:
- $350M in player compensation: Projected annual total by 2028, excluding Grand Slam prize money.
- Bigger bonus pool: Increasing from $21.5M to $50M.
- More player support: $25M in year-end support for players ranked in the Top 250, plus around $30M annually for pensions covering 300 players.
- Ranking points overhaul: More weight for results at the biggest events, removing incentives to chase extra tournaments after disappointing results.
- Calendar changes: Dedicated weeks for ATP 250s, 500s and Masters 1000s, with plans to reduce the number of 250 events. The proposed structure includes 10 weeks of 250s, eight weeks of 500s and 10 Masters 1000s.
- Saudi Arabia Masters 1000: A 10th event at this level will join the tour in 2028.
- Doubles changes: The ATP is reviewing doubles formats and draws. Any prize money reallocated would go toward singles qualifying and early-round payouts.
The goal is to reward results at the biggest events, improve player financial security and ease the pressure to play so many tournaments.

People purposely conflating what Jamie Carragher said about his desperation to win with Manchester City cooking the books are hilarious. Clear as day he’s talking about diving for a penalty or handballing one off the line not sham contracts to the tune of a billion quid.
🔴⚪️ Mikel Arteta: “On my first day as new Arsenal manager, I had demolished the office”.
“I just destroyed the office and put everything on the floor — the computers, the laptops, the cables. Then I brought everybody in”, told @TheAthleticFC.
“I said: ‘If you want me to help you enjoy your profession and your life and the passion that we all share, you have two minutes to put this in order and be ready to work together.’”
“That could have been my managerial career because if that would have stayed the same way, I had no job anymore!”.
"Get lost! How dare you ruin what's part of our country, our DNA in this country."
Ian Holloway had some very strong words when asked about the Man City charges.
