“The NAACP Virginia State Conference has not endorsed any candidate for Governor. Period."~ Rev. Cozy Bailey, Virginia State Conference President
https://t.co/katGEyBogc
Let us be clear: The NAACP has not and does not endorse candidates. We fight for civil rights.
Any claim that the Association or the NAACP Virginia State Conference has endorsed a candidate for Governor is categorically false.
"We're laser-focused on getting our people to the polls to defend democracy and to vote for leaders who stand for policies that benefit Black Americans."
— @D_Whitehead87, NAACP Chief of Field, Membership Growth & Unit Sustainability https://t.co/E6Q80JG5nl
Just yesterday, Virginia state election officials requested the Supreme Court block a federal judge's ruling barring them from reviving an unlawful voter purge program that would prevent naturalized citizens from voting.
That program — responsible for purging more than 1,600 registered Virginia voters — was put in place by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin in August but was later struck down.
"The voter purges here are textbook examples of attempted voter suppression and intimidation."
— NAACP President and CEO @DerrickNAACP

Tonight, Missouri lynched another innocent Black man.
Governor Parson had the responsibility to save this innocent life, and he didn’t. The NAACP was founded in 1909 in response to the barbaric lynching of Black people in America — we were founded exactly because of people like Governor Parson who perpetuate violence against innocent Black people.
We will hold Governor Parson accountable. When DNA evidence proves innocence, capital punishment is not justice—it is murder.

So, Governor Youngkin decries the loss of 30K jobs with his failure of the GLENDOME but vetoes a minimum wage increase that strengthens households THAT ALREADY HAVE JOBS. Make it make sense. @NAACPVirginia will continue to advocate for a living wage for Virginia's hardest workers
