COL & NAAC Launch New Partnership in India to Strengthen Quality in Online Higher Education
During this week’s visit to India, COL President & CEO Prof. Peter Scott joined over 50 Vice-Chancellors today as COL and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) announced a new collaborative initiative: Transforming Indian Higher Education through Online Learning. As part of the announcement, Prof. Scott also delivered a keynote, “Micro credentials -Small Things for Big Change” at the Vice-Chancellors’ gathering.
With India’s higher education system rapidly expanding, this partnership will build capacity, strengthen quality assurance, and support the growth of flexible, future-ready online learning.
Through this initiative, COL and NAAC will:
• Share global best practices in online learning
• Deliver targeted training and capacity building
• Conduct joint research and advisory services
• Support ministries and regional bodies
• Work with 10 universities through a structured, long-term approach

• Enhanced faculty skills in curriculum, teaching, and learner engagement
• Evidence to inform national policy and regulation
