I received my first shot of COVID-19 vaccine! In order for us to protect each other, we have to be vaccinated. Me being vaccinated means I protect not only myself, I protect my community, and I protect my family!
I encourage you all to go get the vaccines as soon as possible.

We have to change funding models that move towards a system that is about completion of care ... that are centered on the client.

@AlboMP Congratulations! The ALP's package was a welcome pre-election announcement, including 500 trainees for our ACCHOs and badly needed dialysis clinics. Also includes action in combating RHD, a preventable disease killing so many of our children.

I am disturbed by the findings of the @EquityEconomics report and how extensive the funding gap is. How can we improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people when there is a $4.4 billion funding deficit?
https://t.co/wEG3SOt9QY
How can we seriously expect as a nation to ever close the health gap if the funding gap is so large? We will continue to live lives 8-9 years shorter than other Australians. NACCHO calls upon the Government to close the funding gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

The army is there at the communities' request and at the request of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health organisations that are fighting hard to protect those communities and make sure that COVID-19 doesn't spread any further.
📹 Torres Strait Islander author Thomas Mayer shares a message about rumors of the army going into Aboriginal communities mistreating and forcing people to get vaccinated.
"This is absolutely untrue. The army is there at the communities' request because they need that support."
We have a sorry history in voting eligibility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We're at a critical time as a nation to act upon the Uluru Statement from the Heart and secure an Indigenous ‘voice’ to Parliament. Yet this proposed Bill sets us back on our journey.
