With so many of these beautiful historic chapels up and down the country in disrepair and unable to be used, it’s so sad to see one the few still in use meet such a untimely demise.
We're saddened to hear of a fire this morning gutting a chapel at Heywood Cemetery. Sadly, all of the building apart from the stonework is lost. No-one was hurt. Thanks to @manchesterfire who were on the scene - the site has been secured and further investigations underway.
Members are invited to join us for a relaxed virtual get together next month. The purpose of which is to share experiences of the past, current concerns & hopeful expectations of the future in regards to the current pandemic.

Good luck to any local members due to receive their results. In an unregulated profession, the personal decision to better your knowledge and understanding is commendable and worth it for you, your colleagues and most importantly the clients and their loved ones in your care.
Unfortunately there has been a leak in the ceiling at the @NAFD_UK offices and most of the IT has had to be unplugged. Please bear with us while we get re-organised! If you need the team urgently, 0121 711 1343 is being monitored, as is [email protected].
The @CMAgovUK has published the appendices to its Provisional Decision Report which provide the important context and rationale to its decisions. Funeral firms are urged to read what's proposed and, where possible, respond by the deadline of 10 Sept: https://t.co/xklolp62t6
The government has updated its guidance and will now require face coverings to be worn by visitors to #funeral homes in England from 8 August. https://t.co/niCiuD74st

We’re saddened to announce the peaceful yet premature passing of our colleague and friend Neil Macdonald in late June. Neil entered the profession at 16 and spent the following years working for several funeral homes across the Greater Manchester region.
After a small break working as a Nurse at Wythenshawe Hospital. Neil would later set up Wythenshawe Funeral Services in the late 2000s before selling up to @fspfunerals some 6 years later where he would eventually end up as part of their team in the role of Consultant FD.
