We were joined by over 50 members from the region on Friday, to listen to Mike Sherdian (EM Regional Director of OFSTED).

He was clear, pragmatic and receptive to members concerns.

We look forward to welcoming him back to the region in September to discuss OFSTED and SEND.

The afternoon session EDI yesterday saw Kathie Wade and Troy Jenkinson talk about their lived experiences as leaders with protected characteristics.

Then Kudsia Batool Director of Equalities at the TUC closed the conference by discussing the importance of protecting education.

A really thought provoking morning at the NAHT East Midlands EDI conference with Ellie Grady from Inclusive Practice.

Members are exploring the important of EDI for a school curriculum, red flag language and how to challenge their own and other unconscious bias.

Our East Midlands officials met today to discuss our region's priorities over the next few months.

SEND & the approach of LA's in the region is clearly the top priority and we are all agreed on the need for NAHT to be a strong voice for school leaders across the region.
