Big well done to our PhD student @Cameronjkirk for presenting his findings on his first paper today - we are looking forward to seeing it written up! Cam explored the use of real world walking speed to assess motor disease severity in #parkinsons.
Really interesting findings here. Especially the importance of early non-motor symptoms and that falls and balance are the largest issue reported by those living with advanced Parkinson's.
New early open access paper in collaboration with members of @BAM_Research!
Further evidence that the cholinergic system can provide useful prognostic markers in #Parkinsons, in this case related to gait decline.
New research from @LynnRochester1 & colleagues indicates that cholinergic basal forebrain volumes predicts gait decline in #Parkinsons
