Judge-President of the High Court, Hon. Petrus Damaseb hosted the Criminal Stream Judges Information Sharing Session today, at Mercure Hotel Windhoek, bringing together judges from the Main Division and the Northern Local Division.
APPOINTED| Ms. Gladice Pickering, has been appointed as an Acting Judge of the High Court effective, 1 July 2026 to 30 September 2026. Ms. Pickering previously served as an acting Judge of the High court from 16 March 2026 to 30 June 2026.
Ambassador Giordano also met with the students from Campbell University currently in Namibia, who are participating in the exchange programme under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.

COURTESY VISIT |Today, Chief Justice, His Lordship Honourable Peter S. Shivute, received the United States Ambassador to Namibia, Ambassador John Giordano, at the Supreme Court on a courtesy visit.
Ambassador Giordano reaffirmed his support for the Namibian Judiciary and expressed his commitment to strengthening cooperation and continued engagement through knowledge-sharing and professional exchange.
The induction forms part of the Magistracy’s ongoing commitment to strengthening judicial capacity and promoting excellence within the judiciary.

INDUCTION | Yesterday, 22 June 2026, the Office of the Judiciary commenced its Induction training programme for ten (10) newly recruited magistrates at the Head Office in Windhoek.
practical experience in judicial practice, ethics and court administration.
The newly appointed magistrates have been assigned to courts in Ohangwena, Usakos, Outapi, Windhoek, Oshakati, Aranos, Outjo, Otavi and Keetmanshoop.
