We had many visitors sharing with us about different cultures, languages, dances, delicious food and unique experiences from that country. We have decided to let the train stay in Canada, we will put our luggage bags away for now. Who knows what other adventures await in Rm. 14!
Today we looked at safety pictures and discussed what we saw! We were reminded to obey the traffic signals, look both ways before crossing the road -walk don't run, cross with a grownup or an older student (with parent permission) don't cross alone,cross at lights and crosswalks!
Easter art using dabs of paint. We used "spring colours" (yellow, light blue, pink, and light green"). We took the squeegee and dragged the paint down the paper ... They look egg-cellent!
What's your favourite thing about spring? Blooming flowers was something that lots of friends shared! To welcome spring, we thought we'd make some flower petal prints! Beautiful!
Greg came in today to teach us about Ireland! We learned about castles, the beautiful lands, and leprechauns. We learned some neat Gaelic words, about Irish music and did some Irish dancing! We had a yummy treat and received clovers for good luck! Thanks again, Greg! 🍀
Some simple science fun at the Extended Care March Break! We explored static electricity, space sand, a separation experiment with water and markers and an underwater volcano. Science rules!
What a day we had exploring the Art Gallery at N.A MacEachern's March Break Extended Day. We talked about a variety of art forms and took time to appreciate that we are all unique artists. And of course our grand opening wasn't complete without a red ribbon cutting! Classy right?
Today we "visited" Scotland! Thanks Michelle for sharing! We learned about family tartans, Highland dancing, bagpipe music and family pins! We practised some dancing and tasted delicious short bread cookies! Yum. Check out our outfits!
Check out the Pumper fire truck that came to NAM today for a Kindie presentation! We learned about why a fire truck is like "a big tool box". We got to see all the neat tools and gadgets on the truck! Awesome!
Local fire fighters came to NAM to discuss fire safety with the kindie classes! We even learned about what gear they wear and why! They are so busy that the big truck had to go on a call right in the middle of our presentation! Wow!
We "visited" the Bahamas with Vernessa today! 🇧🇸 We learned abou animals such as flamingos, sharks and stingrays .... We read a story about Shelly the conch! We got to touch and feel real conch shells. We learned about the culture, music and tasted delicious tropical fruits!
Does the saying, "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" hold true this year? We are going to keep track of the weather in the month of March using 10 frames! Stay tuned to find out more...
Our kindies have become world travelers! Our parent community is helping us learn more about our students' culture/heritage. Dave taught us about S. Africa! He shared the Afrikkans language, photos and art. We played the djembe drum and had a dance party! We even had a treat!
