It takes hundreds of crores of losses in terms of rotting apples to wake up a wandering CM to actually issue a statement. Apple industry is the backbone of the Kashmiri economy.

An economy already reeling under impact of tourism losses has now been saddled with horticulture losses.

Mere expression of concern from the ruling establishment is a luxury.

NHAI manages national highway. And don’t tell us there is no coordination with local authorities.

What stopped the shawl gifting CM sahib to land in Delhi, meet ministers and ensure expeditious clearance of the highway. Did you even go there. Did you even pretend to be bothered.

I can understand union government treating it like yet another highway closure. But you should have know it is not yet another closure.

The apples destined for the rest of the country are in a state of rot. Massive losses for the apple growers. I am sure there must be some remedial measures. Inclement weather is not fault of the government. But sitting like a mute spectator and doing nothing is criminal.

My humble advice to CM sahib. Stop wandering aimlessly across the country. Sit with your officers and stakeholders and work out a strategy.
