Juneteenth is around the corner. Let’s not only celebrate our freedom from physical bondage, but also our continuous struggle for psychological, spiritual, religious, cultural, and the freedom to create solutions for the advancement of human life uninterrupted by opposing forces.
“No matter how you look at it, we all was on the boat together, Black man and Black woman. That trauma created a cyclic effect of self inflicted abuse. No one’s exempt. However, at some point, someone has to take leadership and defend the marriage, the family, the community…”
We need more programs that support Black men who are striving to take care of their families. I believe the government should have set asides for this. I don’t believe large corporate companies will get behind this because it’s not popular to empower Black men.
Us pre 2020: Let us tell the world you’re Black owned!
Them : “Saying my business is Black owned limits me.”
Us: You ain’t reaching nobody right now anyway.
Them post 2020: “Everybody!! We’re Black-owned!!!”
If H&M wants to collaborate with some Black owned brands this month, don’t expect for us to clap. I mean, we love you, but it’s hard to forget about the boy and the monkey 🐒.
Y’all watch out for all these media accounts that only promote what white folks are doing for Black folks. Can you imagine talking to someone and this is their position on progress?
We need some advice. How can we help the millions of families in our community make the switch to using all Black owned brands in their homes? We put together a starter kit, but what will it take to get everyone onboard?
@Rob1317 Exactly. It really isn’t. That why we simply say We Buy Black. Statements adding people’s gender and sexual preferences is completely unnecessary and only further weakens the movement.
At this point, we dividing ourselves. If we say “We Buy Black” then don’t come behind us saying “We Buy From Black Women” or “…Black Trans” or “Black anything.” No… We 👏🏾 Buy 👏🏾 Black 👏🏾 and that’s on Mary had a little son that ain’t white! Okay!!!
