BREAKING🚨| The government has announced anti-strike legislation.
When workers democratically vote to strike, they can be forced to work and sacked if they don’t. This is wrong, unworkable, and almost certainly illegal.
⏳ The final countdown to the close of our #BetterDealForTeachers ballot has begun.
🚨 Don't miss the deadline.
📮 Post your ballot back today to have your say on your pay.
We're currently sending texts & making phone calls to members to check they have received their ballot paper.
If you are contacted it would be greatly appreciated if you could briefly reply.
Fighting for a #betterdealforteachers on pay for members.
The Govt has set high turnout thresholds for our Pay Ballot.
That means we need every single NASUWT member to vote YES & YES to win.
So if you've sent off your ballot already, send a text to a friend to remind them to do the same.
Together we can win a #BetterDealForTeachers
At this critical moment, now is the time to stand together and send a clear and unequivocal message that the teaching profession demands better.
If you haven't done so please post back your ballot now. #Betterdealforteachers

Today's meeting with the government's scientific advisors on the plans for the reopening of schools raised more questions than answers.

We are meeting the Government's scientific advisors later over the Government's plans for the reopening of schools. Our primary consideration is the health & safety of teachers & pupils. We want schools to be able to reopen, but when they can demonstrate that it is safe to do so
Unless and until the Government can demonstrate that schools will be safe for staff and children, all schools should continue to limit their opening only to vulnerable children and to children of key workers. Read my full response https://t.co/fvdnkabbcY
The NASUWT will continue to press the Government on the need for clear guidance and stringent and enforceable health and safety risk assessment measures to be in place in every school prior to relaxing the current restrictions.
