Unpopular opinion:
I rarely meet men in real life who are as remarkable as the ones written in movies, but I constantly meet women who are far more impressive than the women movies give us.
put my brother to rest this week 💔 he used to joke about making people put band stickers on his casket and throwing candy inside. never thought that day would come so soon but we made sure he had the most punk coffin in history
Took a philosophy class that covered assisted dying. One guy wanted to die because he couldn't afford his disability equipment so his life was shit and he had no independence. Apparently "why don't they just give him the equipment instead of killing him" was the wrong answer?????
a lot of people dont care about insect biomass collapse bc when they hear we are losing 2.5% of the insect biomass per year they just imagine the cockroach and housefly population decreasing by that much. they dont realize those are among the only ones that will remain unbothered
Some letters are never meant to be sent.
In 1946, Richard Feynman wrote a love letter to his wife, two years after her death --He never sent it.
Last line: “I love my wife. My wife is dead.”
I think one of the healthiest things a person can do is become easy to delight. To still stop for weird clouds and dogs wearing bandanas and the smell of garlic cooking somewhere down the street. The world already has enough cynicism. Be the person who still points at the moon.
one of the most dangerous addictions is becoming addicted to coping with a life you know you need to change. yes, i said it.
you distract yourself, numb yourself and convince yourself that surviving is same as living.
days become months, months become years & before you know it;
you have spent your life managing the symptoms instead of fixing the cause... at some point, healing requires action cos the life you want will never be found in your coping mechanisms, it will be found on the other side of the decision you keep avoiding.
I genuinely don’t think people understand how insane this is.
In just 50 years, we’ve wiped out around 70% of animal populations on Earth.
Not hundreds of years ago.
Not ancient history.
In one lifetime.
Entire species disappearing.
Forests going silent.
Oceans being emptied.
And somehow the world treats it like just another statistic instead of a full-blown emergency.
That should scare all of us a lot more than it does.
I need yall to know that once I started working in medical insurance billing, I stopped donating blood. I used to donate every six weeks for years and then found out that Red Cross sells your blood for $300 to the hospital and then the hospital turns out and bills insurance for 1K-5k. We are being robbed out here!! Free Luigi.
the craziest thing about being an adult is that you could go through the most traumatic night of your life and you'll just have to go to work the next day
