NATO AWACS Operates in Support of Standing NATO Maritime Groups

This week, NATO AWACS is supporting Standing NATO Maritime Groups (SNMGs) in the High North region.

NATO AWACS provides air and sea surveillance over a large area, thereby contributing to NATO’s vigilance posture.

The NATO E-3A AWACS aircraft operates is able to covers a surveillance area of more than 120,000 square miles (310,798 square kilometres).
