Today, on January 26, hear from the chair of the NTEU Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Policy Committee, Sharlene Leroy-Dyer👇
This is a really important article from the chair & the @NTEUVictoria rep on @NTEUnion’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Policy Committee. This is a crisis - Govt and unis must take measures so students are safe on campus.
Current President @shazza9900's article in the conversation about the prevalence of sexual violence on campuses for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.https://t.co/4wSChb3ybW
Just horrific, how will we ever close the gap in educational outcomes with reports like this. Morrison must be held accountable for these disgraceful outcomes for Aboriginal students
Disgraceful figures for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students, who are more likely to be sexually harassed at university than any other cohort- one in five (21.4%) compared to 16% of students who did not identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

The results of @uniaus's National Student Safety Survey are shocking. I am heartbroken for the students who have been failed by universities and the Morrison Government. The NTEU is calling on @ScottMorrisonMP to prioritise the prevention of sexual violence at universities.
