The claim that E20 was forced without preparation: incorrect. The programme has been running in phases since 2001. E20-compatible vehicles were introduced by all major manufacturers in 2023.

The claim of 25-30% mileage drop: no scientific basis. Theoretical reduction at 20% blending is 3-5% under comparable conditions. Validated by ARAI, IIP, SIAM and automobile manufacturers.

The claim that India is importing ethanol from the US for fuel blending: incorrect. EBP programme uses only domestic ethanol. No policy notification permits otherwise.

The claim that Goa is uniquely harmed because of vehicle ownership: incorrect. Vehicle ownership does not determine E20 compatibility. Maharashtra has the most vehicles in India and shows no such pattern of failures.

The claim that the US uses only E10: incomplete. The US also sells E15 and E85 at scale.

Every major factual claim made at that press conference was either wrong or misleading. Every single one.
