40 students from Newton Abbot College participated in their first Ten Tors walk over the weekend. The students showed the college values of courage, respect, kindness and achievement in abundance. They were a credit to themselves and the college.
It is 'National Read a Book Day' and we are proud to consider ourselves readers at Newton Abbot College. Today we launched our second year of the tutor reading programme. Students will read a wide range of books during their 7 years with us. Happy reading!
Today Newton Abbot College held their mock general election. Students across the college have had lessons on what a general election is, its purpose and what each of the main parties are campaigning for. Today the whole school took to the polls....results to follow!
We were thrilled to launch the Newton Abbot College Community Partnership Project with a family food session this evening. We really enjoyed welcoming families to come and cook a meal together ready to take home and enjoy! More events coming very soon.

This weekend 20 Year 10 students completed their Silver DofE Qualifying Expedition. All students worked incredibly hard as a team and finished Day 3 with a smile! A huge shout out to all of the staff that made this possible. @DofE
Another successful DofE weekend. This time we had the Bronze group who had their expedition. All 34 students completed the expedition and have made memories to last forever. Well done to all of those involved. We look forward to presenting you with your badge and certificate.
A huge well done to two of our Philosophy students who have successfully completed the Holocaust Educational Trusts Lessons from Auschwitz Project. This involved seminars where they heard survivor testimony, a visit to Auschwitz and a follow up project.
Year 10 historians have just got back from a three day tour of the First World War Battlefields in France and Belgium. The students spent lots of time reflecting on the experiences of the soldiers who fought in the war and learnt lots about key battles on the Western Front.

Art and Photography A-level students from Newton Abbot College and Teignmouth Community School enjoyed a great trip to Madrid over half term. They visited art galleries including the Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen-Bornemisza, San Fernando Fine Art Royal Academy and The Royal Palace
The Photography Exhibition was a wonderful experience and opportunity for all involved. Our Newton Abbot College students, parents and staff who attended were overwhelmed and so proud that their work had been included.
