Fixing tanking in the NBA is pretty simple.
If the NBA takes away the incentive for teams to tank (best odds to land a top 4 pick to the worst teams) and give those bottom teams a reason to win games the problem should take care of itself.
@Fam43039991 @DetroitLobCity@DanWolken What's so confusing? If you finish in the bottom 4, you'll pick somewhere between 5th-8th. The rest of the non playoff teams go into the lottery as usual to try and move into the Top 4.
NBA needs to stop incentivising losing
If your team finishes in the bottom 4 of the league, you only get a 5% chance to land a top 4 pick in the draft. The other 10 non playoff teams get an 8% chance at getting one
Teams will do whatever they can to avoid being in the bottom 4
@Ebev02@ErikLambert1 I agree right now tanking is the best solution, but that needs to change as fans, sponsors, and the NBA's media partners are all fed up with it.
@rapplerdotcom The best way to put an end to tanking would be to penalize the teams that finish at the bottom of the standings instead of rewarding them with the best odds to land a top pick in the draft.

@SmanSports I agree 100% with encouraging team to win instead of incentivizing them to lose. The easiest way to make that happen? Penalize the teams that finish with the 4 worst records by not allowing them into the draft lottery.
