Open-minded people seek to learn by asking questions; they realize how little they know in relation to what there is to know and recognize that they might be wrong; they are thrilled to be around people who know more than they do because it represents an opportunity to learn something. Closed-minded people always tell you what they know, even if they know hardly anything. They are typically uncomfortable being around those who know a lot more than they do.

The answer doesn't have to be in your head; you can look outside yourself. If you're truly looking at things objectively, you must recognize that the probability of you always having the best answer is small and that, even if you have it, you can't be confident that you do before others test you. So it is invaluable to know what you don't know. Ask yourself: Am I seeing this just through my own eyes? If so, then you should know that you're terribly restricted. #principleoftheday
When you're in a leadership position, it actually is your fault. When something goes wrong and you didn't plan for it or you didn't predict it and you didn't have a backup, you didn't have a contingency, it's your fault.

You've heard the expression "no pain no gain." Psychologists have shown that the most powerful personal transformations come from experiencing the pain from mistakes that a person never wants to have again--known as "hitting bottom." So don't be hesitant to give people those experiences or have them yourself.
While it is important to be clear to people about what they are doing well, it is even more important to point out their weaknesses and have them reflect on them.
Problems require more time than things that are going well. They must be identified and understood and addressed, while things that are running smoothly require less attention. Instead of celebrating how great we are, we focus on where we need to improve, which is how we got to be so great. #principleoftheday
To the Nichols family, my teammates and I are and have been paying attention. We are with you.
To Memphis, we are hurting, too.
Peaceful protest, supporting the family, pushing for accountability are what’s needed in this moment. 🤎
Radical open-mindedness is motivated by the genuine worry that you might not be seeing your choices optimally. It is the ability to effectively explore different points of view and different possibilities without letting your ego or your blind spots get in your way. (1/2)
