New Brigden School

New Brigden School is a rural school located approximately 30 mins north of Oyen. New Brigden is the most northern school in the Prairie Rose School Division.

From pumpkins to muffins! First we processed the pumpkin. Today, we thawed the pumpkin and baked some muffins. The Grade 3-5’s used literacy skills; formatting their recipe, and math skills; following a recipe, using fractions and measuring. Great group work and life skills.

It was great to welcome students and families back to NBS joining us for a pancake and sausage breakfast. Thanks to everyone who willingly helped out! No wonder we have such amazing kids with all the amazing NB parents. Here’s to a fabulous school year! ❤️

New Brigden had a sudden hail storm this afternoon. We followed our Hour Zero protocol having students do a real “shelter in place”. We delayed our buses for about 10 minutes, and the storm ended as quickly as it started. Students were great, and happy to be safe!

Bigger and fatter and moving into the pupa stage! Exciting to watch them climb, attach themselves, and become a chrysalis!

We created a monarch butterfly habitat. Then all the students helped to transfer the caterpillars to their new home. We are all so excited to experience the metamorphosis from caterpillars to butterflies.

For Mental Health Awareness Week our students went for a walk on Tuesday, and all wore their Hats on For Mental Health on Wednesday! #prsd8

Our Grade 3-4 students wrote a friendly letter to 11 seniors at the Oyen Senior Lodge in hopes of brightening their day. Love how these kids are so caring! ❤️

Our chicks are hatching! The students have been learning and charting the embryo development. They were so excited to watch them grow using the candler, then to finally hatch. They patiently waited for them to dry so they could get “hands on”! @PrairieRoseSD8

#BellLetsTalk Day today! Raising awareness of Mental Health. We discussed self care activities with Grade 3-4, and how to listen with K-2’s. Great discussion about how important it is to talk, and that it is ok to ask for help when you need it. #PRSD8
