I responded to President @NAkufoAddo’s invitation for a courtesy visit to the Presidency this morning to begin the transition process.
We had a cordial meeting, and the President briefed me on security and the economy. Later today, we will inaugurate the Joint Transition Team.
I also expressed my sincerest appreciation to the President for his phone call on Monday to congratulate me. It was a good mark of statesmanship, giving me a sense of déjà vu.
Democracy and Ghana are the winners following the electoral process. Despite all the anxieties people had ahead of the election and voting day, Ghana has done it again.
We can be sure that our democracy is safe, and by working together across bipartisan lines, we can continue to deepen and consolidate it.

👨🏾🍳🇬🇭: In all of this, it’s the bastardization of the #FreeTheCitizens#StopGalamseyNow campaign by some learned individuals that hurts me the most.
Per their logic, you can’t belong to a political party & ask for clean water lol; what kinda politics are we genuinely practicing?
Cuz… aah well🤷🏾♂️
What is the point of government if it cannot solve hard problems. We elect government to solve hard problems like galamsey, not to just borrow to buy or build things. Any average person can do the latter. Our political class is not fit for purpose.

Isn't that how it's done in this town? The President runs the country like it's his personal property, the Chief Justice does the same with the judiciary, the Speaker with Parliament, and on and on it goes! Why the surprise!
https://t.co/15ITUurCqO
Our political leaders are uninterested in or incapable of solving hard problems. What they love to do, which any average person can do, is borrow to procure things--and get rich doing so.

- Samson Lardy Anyenini descends heavily on the Police, AG and Judiciary for the injustice meted out to the arrested protesters. #Newsfile#NoToGalamsey#FreeTheCitizens
I call on President Nana Addo to immediately release the #StopGalamseyNow demonstrators from custody, for they are not enemies of the state. – Osaberima Tsibu Kwaw Darko (Paramount Chief of the Enyan Denkyira Traditional Area)
