Our findings shed new light on the cardiac impact of COVID-19 in paediatric age. 60% of children who recovered from asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic COVID-19 still exhibit mild subclinical systolic cardiac impairment after an average follow-up.. https://t.co/CxtpewJpkp
How even mild COVID-19 infection can damage your lungs
Studies are finding damage in children and the virus in lungs a year after infection, causing T-cell infiltration, scarring, and a mechanism for lung injury. 🧵1/

Wake County has developed calendar options that would defy the state's calendar law. But, unlike Union County, the Wake school board has never taken the step of going against the law. It instead has requested calendar flexibility. #wcpss#nced#ncpol https://t.co/O6Uz4S00Tj
Fox: "When people are in public, they should be protected...It’s an equity issue. It’s a health & safety issue. It’s a public-health & societal issue. Right now, really, the priorities are: Schools — we have a moral obligation to our kids to provide them with a safe environment."
Hooray! "ASHRAE...today announced its commitment to support the expedited development of a national indoor air quality (IAQ) pathogen mitigation standard. The goal is to finalize the consensus-based, code enforceable standard within six months." https://t.co/BErKJw91zm

Home weather station update via the app. Can add as many additional sensors as needed. It sends notifications for specific settings, i.e. high co2. My point? IT'S NOT HARD. Step 1, schools: monitor. Then troubleshoot.

For those concerned with learning loss, the amount of sickness should be a big concern right now. For those who are concerned with repeated SARS COV-2 infections for our children, speak up and loud. Where are the layers of protection for our children in schools?
@DavidElfstrom The district actually told these particular parents that these levels are not concerning and "to be expected" in a classroom at the end of the day. Per their experts. Sigh.
@DavidElfstrom We started looking at this for COVID reasons to advocate for better ventilation. Now we realize it's far worse than we expected and even meeting building code is in question. Parents of high risk kids are mostly those sending in monitors.
@DavidElfstrom The real translation to that statement is that everyone is telling them there is nothing wrong with our co2 levels and they meet NC building code, so all is well. We are keeping the pressure on!
