One of the founders and presidents of the National Association of Black Journalists is Les Payne. Graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in English, Les Payne has made a remarkable impact on Journalism as a whole.
During his time working for Newsday as an investigative journalist, Payne has covered major stories like uncovering racial injustices, The Black Panther Party and Martin Luther King Jr. Payne has also received three Pulitzer Prizes.
Although she has battled with breast cancer and a rare blood disorder and had to take a break, Robert returned back to Good Morning America in 2013.

After graduating college, Roberts used her combination of athletic talent and journalistic skill to become a sports reporter and anchor for a local TV station in Mississippi.
