All ranks and Cdts of 7 Kerala Girls Bn NCC, Ekm Gp participated in *IDY 2026* with the overall aim of inculcating the habit of Yoga in everyday life for everyone by highlighting it's benefits in terms of physical & mental endurance.

The Yoga sessions were conducted at different locations including Thrissur, Guruvayur, Irinjalakuda Ernakulam, Aluva, Chelakkara and Mayyanur.

Over 565 Cdts alongwith NCC Staff participated in the ibid event.

*Incident at KMM College, Thrikkakara, Ernakulam on 23 Dec 24*
1. The cadets who felt unwell at the camp conducted by 21 (K) Bn NCC were sent to the nearest hospital without any delay. They were diagnosed dehydrated and were administered appropriate treatment and after requisite rest, were discharged. The issue was misinterpreted as a case of food poisoning which was later found to be untrue by the state Medical Authorities as well as the investigation ordered by the Army. As the news spread on local media, it generated panic amongst the parents of the cadets and the locals who gathered around the Camp premises along with the media and certain student political group members, forming a mob. Threat to the cadets, especially girls was envisaged and inspite of all efforts of the Camp Commandant and the staff at the Camp, the mob broke open the gates and made an unauthorized entry inside the camp premises, manhandling the Camp Commandant and Staff. Derogatory comments and verbal abuses were also passed by student political members on girl cadets. The Group Commander, NCC Group Ernakulam Group immediately reached the camp site and controlled the situation. An investigation was ordered by the NCC authorities to ascertain the facts of the incident. FIR has been lodged at Thrikkakara Police Station for assaulting uniformed personnel on duty and against unlawful entry of persons into camp premises and creating chaos.
2. The Offg ADG met the State Police Chief and requested for immediate arrest of the culprits. The Group Commander, Ernakulam Group met the DG NCC in person and briefed about the entire incident. A letter to the Chief Secretary, Govt of Kerala and to the State Police Chief was initiated by the DG NCC and delivered through a special courier for requisite action. It has been confirmed that there has been no food poisoning and it was due to dehydration that the cadets had reported sick. The medical investigation by state Health Dept has also conveyed that there has been no food poisoning, as emerged in the stool report of the affected cadets. However, the report has been submitted to the State government for approval after which it will be declassified. The entire hype was created and the student political parties exploited the same with vested interests. Two individuals involved in assaulting the Camp Commandant have been identified and arrested, however were granted conditional bail by the Court of Judicial Magistrate. NCC, along with Army authorities are vigorously pursuing the case for taking stringent judicial action against the perpetrators.
