Thank you, Melo. 💜
LaMelo Ball’s time in Charlotte has officially come to an end as the Hornets turn the page on a new era.
Wishing him nothing but the best in Minnesota.
@HornetsLead Don't know if we really had momentum though, feel like there is more to come! Once this all settles then we will check on those empty seats
The Hornets will be able to add up to 40M without having to send any outgoing salary.
If you add this into the equation, you can make the case that Charlotte is getting Naz Reid, 1st, multiple swaps, multiple 2nds, AND a possible star.
More coming from Jeff Peterson. 📺👀
@TheFanRookie Honestly Charlotte has been stuck in the middle while deciding to truly build around him or not, this is still a young team with promising talent to build around and at times LaMelo's play can be erratic and clearly Lee and Co want to build this team differently
This will sting I liked LaMelo but we've been on the fence for years now if we were gonna build around him or not we finally got clarification. Be an interesting season for the Hornets can't wait to see what happens
Breaking: The Charlotte Hornets are trading LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030) and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033), sources tell @ShamsCharania.
Free agent guard Coby White intends to sign a three-year, $74 million deal to return to the Charlotte Hornets, sources tell ESPN. White was a major priority for the Hornets and now steps into a new starting role in the backcourt.
@FanOfHomeState This was the conclusion I reached as well, I don't think its going to happen though especially since Minnesota who seems to be driving this doesn't want to give up anyone half decent
"[Jeff] Peterson and Head Coach Charles Lee have continued to establish a clear identity for the team and know the type of players they’re targeting both on and off the court. Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson Jr. are two that fit the mold perfectly."

@HornetsLead Think I feel better with the Hannes pick over time Anderson is hard to swallow. Feels like we are just sitting on our assets which is irritating.
