🤝Climate action and #NCD prevention must go hand in hand to protect health and build system resilience.
New evidence from UN Environment Programme & Climate & Clean Air Coalition makes the case clear: investing in integrated climate and clean-air action is an investment in health.
💰 Every $1 spent on climate and air-pollution action could yield $15 in economic benefits, while 25 targeted measures could avert 144 million related premature deaths, according to a new report.

🏭 Air pollution is one of the most important and preventable risk factors for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).
💪 Through our partnership with @CleanAirFund, NCD Alliance has helped elevate air pollution within the global NCD agenda, supporting stronger policy commitments and promoting sustainable solutions by highlighting lessons learned and best practices.
🤝 We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration and advocacy for action on air pollution to prevent NCDs and improve the lives of people affected by them. Together, we can hashtag#ActOnNCDs.

📚 This Global Week for Action, we launched practical resources to help turn commitments on NCDs into affordable, accessible care.
📘 The Advancing Access toolkit, developed with the University of NCD Policy Lab, helps advocates identify barriers to essential medicines, diagnostics and medical devices and develop specific advocacy asks.
📗 Our financing case studies from Colombia, Nepal and Uganda explore how countries are financing NCD medicines through primary health care.
📙 While our Financing Policy Brief sets out priorities for government action on equitable access, financial protection and the cost of care.

✅️ What does leadership look like when the commitments have already been made?
Our President reflects on the responsibility before African leaders today: turning political will into progress that reaches communities across East Africa.

As the #GW4A2026 closes, the opportunity to turn commitments into measurable results remains. Strong #Accountability requires reliable data, clear targets, and the meaningful participation of CSOs and people living with #NCDs and #MentalHealth conditions.

“Investing in NCD prevention must also mean investing in a strong, skilled and empowered nursing workforce, with the resources and opportunities to lead health promotion and community based interventions” - President @mna_nurses_#ActOnNCDs#LeadOnNCDs@MoHmv@presidencymv
For our Program Manager, the future of NCD care begins much closer to home.
Strong primary health systems can bring prevention, diagnosis, and care within reach of more people across our communities. #ActOnNCDs#LeadOnNCDs!
Advancing access is critical to the fight against #NCDs.
Government must prioritise equitable access to essential NCD care, medicines and diagnostics through stronger #healthplanning, sustainable financing and effective service delivery. https://t.co/B8bqR3qRCJ

On the final day of the Global Week for Action on NCDs 2026, we are inviting everyone to share their thoughts and opinions on what matters most in implementing commitments made on NCDs
#ActOnNCDs
Access to NCD medicines, diagnostics, and medical devices is not simply a question of whether a product exists.
Policy and systems shape it: how products are selected, regulated, forecasted, procured, priced, and financed.
The new Advancing Access advocacy toolkit from @ncdalliance and @NCDPolicyLab helps advocates understand where these barriers occur and identify who has the power to change them.
For East Africa, this means stronger, more informed advocacy for access to the products people need to prevent, diagnose, and manage NCDs.
