What if Mr Lawrence Muganga’s appointment, before PAC rejected it, was a message? President Yoweri Museveni is among the wisest leaders; his messages are rarely direct and often carry meaning beyond the obvious.
Remember his reply to Andrew Mwenda before cabinet appointments: “You WILL discover that at 82, I am still able to defend Uganda and myself with the Bible, the AK-47 and the PEN.”
In politics, nothing is ever quite what it appears to be on the surface.
Exactly. In fact, this may be one of the biggest mistakes @FrankGashumba has ever made. He touched a very sensitive issue.
Mzee may be willing to reconcile when it comes to politics, but matters of national security are a completely different arena. On those issues, he is known to take a firm and uncompromising stance.
@NextUgPresident Mzee is a military strategist. He doesn’t have to say everything out loud. Sometimes the message is passed in coded way like it is in the military, and those meant to understand it do.
One thing we should never do is underestimate this old man.
There is something undeniable happening within Uganda’s security forces, and history may look back on this period as a defining moment of institutional transformation.
Today, one can see a level of organization, confidence, professionalism, and pride that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
Look at the parades. The synchronization. The precision. The discipline. The attention to detail. The confidence with which officers and men march. These are not merely ceremonial displays; they are reflections of a system that is demanding higher standards from itself every single day.
Look at the uniforms. The presentation. The bearing. The identity. Every unit appears determined to represent the nation with distinction. There is an unmistakable sense of pride in service and pride in country.
What is even more impressive is that this spirit is not confined to one formation. It can be seen across the board.
From the Special Forces Command to the Air Force, from the Land Forces to the Prisons Service, from military academies to specialized units, institutions are increasingly challenging themselves to become more professional, more organized, more visible, and more effective.
A healthy culture of excellence appears to be taking root.
Units are no longer simply existing side by side, they are pushing one another to improve. Every parade must be sharper. Every event must be better organized. Every appearance must reflect professionalism. Every officer and soldier understands that they represent something bigger than themselves.
Equally significant is the growing visibility of women within the security services. Their participation, leadership, and contribution continue to demonstrate that patriotism, service, and excellence know no gender. A modern force must harness the talents of all its citizens, and Uganda is increasingly showcasing that reality.
Now we have a security sector that projects confidence, inspires national pride and increasingly reflects discipline, unity, professionalism, and patriotism.
And when institutions begin competing to outdo one another in professionalism, discipline, appearance, performance, and service to the nation, the ultimate winner is Uganda.
Years from now, many will remember this era as a period when a renewed spirit of pride, identity, and institutional excellence swept across Uganda’s security forces.
Who doesn’t want to join the army now ?
Thank you, CDF Gen @mkainerugaba, for fostering a culture that celebrates patriotism, professionalism, discipline, and excellence in service to Uganda. 🇺🇬
Asiye Kifani!
You’re doing the work of the Government Citizens Interaction Centre @GCICUganda .
Are they still doing their work, or is there a hidden merger taking place?
