Fighting for the integrity of our work, & to keep our high standards, ethics and practices free from the clinches of overregulation. #ncpol#reflexology
It's been a difficult year for so many people, and many of us in the #reflexology profession are still struggling to offer services in the face of an ongoing pandemic. But we still take time to wish everyone a joyous and festive #Christmas ๐ day, with high hopes for '21!
Is the hectic Christmas ๐ season getting to you, or maybe you're just tired of hearing about controversy and COVID on the news ๐ฐ and you need a break? A great way to do that is to play Santa ๐ and gift yourself a #reflexology session!
We wish everyone a happy, safe and relaxed #Thanksgiving2021 with their family and friends. It's been a rough two years, but things are looking up as the holiday season begins!
You know what would make us very #thankful? Something like #HB911 or #HB434 making it onto the law books in NC, which would protect our professional autonomy and also help keep unqualified persons from claiming to practice #reflexology. #ncpol
#HB911 passed its first reading in the Senate on Monday. We hope that legislation which protects our livelihood from overregulation and allows us to do what we do bestโoffer natural healing to so many peopleโwill be enacted with all due alacrity. #ncpol
We've said all along that recognizing the #ARCB would make #reflexology in NC better, and the HB911 that crossed over Wednesday does this. But #HB434 would be even better, creating a commission for healing arts practitioners. Is it too much to ask for both? #ncpol
We had some great news Wednesday. HB911, a regulatory reform bill, exempts ARCB-certified reflexologists or students of one from oversight by another board. It passed its 3rd reading and is going to the Senate. We're still hoping for #HB434, but 911 protects our autonomy. #ncpol
NC has world-class conventional healthcare. But we can also have world-class alternative medicine, safe from fraudsters. With 36 percent of Americans using alternative medicine, it's time to #PassHB434 and ensure our healing arts practitioners are second to none. #ncpol
#ncga has a lot of work to do and #reflexology probably isn't near the top of the list. But we help NC residents every day to have better health, wellness and overall quality of life. Help us to keep helping them. #PassHB434
#HB434 would grant state recognition to the ARCB, which has maintained and preserved high professional and ethical standards for #reflexology since 1992. There is no need for over-regulation, and especially not by practitioners of another modality. #ncpol
We're not telling other health and wellness professionals how to do their jobs. So why are others trying to do it to us? #Reflexology has been around for 5,000 years. It has its own professional oversight. NC should #PassHB434 and preserve our professional autonomy. #ncpol
#COVID19 caused NC's professional reflexologists to take a severe financial hit last year, and it's still with us now. And yet, we are spending money defending against a power grab by people who don't know our modality. End this silliness and #PassHB434. #ncpol
Concerns have been raised about shysters claiming to practice #reflexology without proper training. If this is really a concern, then there's already a solution before the legislature. Just pass #HB434 and only allow certified practitioners in NC! #ncpol
#Reflexology has had a professional certification system in place for 29 years. It works; no certified reflexologist has ever been accused of professional misconduct. So why are we being harassed by a group that wants to regulate us? Stop the power and money grab. #ncpol
An organization that knows nothing of #reflexology or any other holistic medicine modalities has no place in our profession. It's time for the #ncga to #PassHB434 and protect reflexologists' professional autonomy. #ncpol
We're in the business of helping people, nothing else. You can't get certified to practice #reflexology unless you get the proper education and meet ethical standards. NC could help us if they would #PassHB434 and recognize our certification body. #ncpol
Countless people consult with certified #reflexology professionals every day, and get relief from pain and anxiety without resort to costly and potentially harmful medication. Is there some reason we are trying to make it hard on them with needless regulation? #PassHB434#ncpol
The American #Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB) was chartered in 1991 and celebrates its 30th anniversary of promoting ethics and expertise in our profession. It has a track record second to none. NC needs to #PassHB434 and officially recognize its operations. #ncpol
COVID hit our profession and the people we help very hard. The last thing we need is a power-grab from a regulatory body that doesn't even certify reflexologists. #PassHB434 and let us recover without this silliness hanging over us. #ncpol
