Mecklenburg County is the second largest county in North Carolina and home to Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina. In 2024, Josh Stein carried this country by a wider margin than Harris, and State Treasurer Bradford Briner was the best performing statewide Republican.

@ceblam_ It's probably happened in a couple of landslides, but even in recent Democrat landslides, the suburbs in South Charlotte were pretty stubbornly Republican.

One important county to watch in next year's senate race is Nash County. Nash County is home to former Governor Roy Cooper, who is now running for senate. It is also an essential swing county that has been very close in margin in almost every recent election.

Brunswick County is the fastest growing county in North Carolina. It is home to beautiful beaches like Ocean Isle and Bald Head Island. In 2024, Josh Stein was the first Democrat to win the county since 2008, and Luke Farley was the strongest performing statewide Republican.
