" Would you like to go out for coffee? There's still some parts of this island that isn't in utter chaos. "

Or partially sunken... or has new bosses running after you... or isn't ran by the IO.

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

Things had felt cold indeed, she felt it to. She'd blame this is island thought. Something about it didn't sit right with her since they had gotten to it.

" Anytime Midas. "

Returning a smile to him. It is a comfort that he is feeling the same about everything. Standing now --

[𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐒 @LOOPINGGOLD]

— smile.

“I appreciate your kindness, dear. Perhaps I will take your offer next time I find myself craving some company.”

He definitely will.

Things have felt, cold.

Isolated recently.

He can’t stand it, but that’s the curse of being a man like him.

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

There's a lot she has been through, but she's here now isn't she? Alive and well. TnTina is still around, she knows Meowscles comes around sometimes and of course Midas has still been here.

Envoy felt comforted by his gesture, both the words and the physical contact. She'd --

[𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐒 @LOOPINGGOLD]

— actually grace his pale features, a hand moving to gently place itself upon her shoulder.

“. . . I am always here. For whatever you may need, alright?”

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

-- give a smile to reassure.

" Thank you si- Midas. "

Old ways Janice.

" And I extend the same to you. "

Though she's never been a boss herself, she can try to understand the difficulties he has gone through. And she knows recently he had some time as an outlaw. That --

-- the gap between them. If it had been years ago, she'd be shaking in the seat.

" I appreciate it Midas. I'm okay though, it's not the first time I've dealt with these nightmares. "

In all honesty, getting back to work as an agent has helped her. The best distraction she has.

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

The Device has always been a sensitive topic for her. Both the event itself and what followed afterward. Like that story for another time. Though she hasn't lost herself to Kevin since then, she knows the curse is still inside her.

Green hues would rise up watching him close --

[𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐒 @LOOPINGGOLD]

— the male rises, moving to settle on the edge of his desk to close the clinical distance between the two.

“. . . I understand that sentiment far more than you’d realize, if there is anything I can do. Let me know.”

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

-- a luxury sometimes. Since Geno put up his tower, I've been getting nightmares about... " Oh- " the Device... no offense. "

The structure Geno has is very similar to Midas' device.

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

Her being one still providing. Still loyal to Midas in the end.

Now he on the other hand, can be quite intimidating sometimes, but she has learned when that actually is. Knowing that now it is not.

There is a nod of her head, acknowledging the truth to his words.

" Sleep is --

[𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐒 @LOOPINGGOLD]

— trying to intimidate, but to study. Yet he smiles.

“You look well. Tired, but well. . . I take it rest hasn’t been at the forefront of your priorities?”

-- to relax her shoulders. The part where she was still stuck in her old ways being evident.

" Sorry. "

Briefly apologizing.

" This new island has been taking awhile to get used too. "

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

It seemed like she was still stuck in those simpler times. After leaving Apollo to be right back in the IO full time, she adjusted her life to it again. But the IO has progressively been falling apart. Namely Jones leaving first, and now recently Slone.

Envoy took this moment --

[𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐒 @LOOPINGGOLD]

— my dear? Always. . . Please, relax. We don’t need to speak of work, I’m just. . . Happy to see you kicking once again.”

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

-- infested waters but that's a story for another day.

To say the least, she's likely just in the same boat as Midas.

" If that is not too much to ask for sir? "

[𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗬 @NCSECONDBEST]

She is not worried- mostly. Perhaps it is the fact that being an IO agent is so ingrained into her. Just like Midas, she'd follow Geno's orders without a doubt in her mind. Though not including when she joined forces with Chaos Agent and Chaos Agent then drowned her in Kevin --

[𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐒 @LOOPINGGOLD]

Geno has. . . Always proved to be a concern.

Though nothing immediately pressing.

A fine brow arches as she settles; golden fingers lacing as he leans forward on his desk, mismatched eyes glancing her over briefly.

“Social call then?”
