Thanks to a study participant for sharing this picture of a buff tailed bumblebee visiting her pots for pollinators. Lovely colours and interesting shapes.
Come and say hello if you’re at Rosliston Forestry Centre today. Here asking if people are interested in participating in the pots for pollinators growing study. It was forecast to be sunny but the rain has just started…

The little wren, in #folklore wife of the robin, stands up to birds much bigger than herself. In Celtic lore she symbolised the year that was past. She is known to sing throughout #winter, & is thus a symbol of hope.

Very chilly but beautiful morning in Swadlincote Woodlands. Bright orange and white trees swaying against a clear blue sky. Feels more like a November morning.

Listening to chaffinches, chiff chaffs, yellowhammers, and a blackbird from my roof tent in Yorkshire. Hopefully parked the right way around to see the buck moon rise.
Have just seen my first juvenile goldfinch of the year 😍 I’ve been hearing them in the trees over the garden fence. An adult has just been too, now I’ve filled the sunflower seed feeder.
