Not small, not secret: We’re now up to over ~625 names. Caveat — not all people listed here may have attended; burden of accuracy is on Dialog itself, as they advertised the attendance of the named individuals as an enticement to prospective members.
4/We're working on putting this all in context and will have that out shortly, but in the meantime, consider this more of an ethnography than an exposé. It's interesting because it shows who Dialog was targeting (and wished to cultivate) but it's also comparable to a lot of other conferences and clubs.
3/The thing that has been keeping Dialog's participant list hidden is inertia and overall lack of interest — until now. Had anybody cared to research this, it would not have been difficult to do so. While the new leak cited by WIRED has added some new knowledge of their processes, Dialog's participant list has never been a closely guarded secret — indeed, they sent it to every new prospect. But it wasn't widely shared or posted publicly, either.
