@BrianLaManna_ yep. even better is coming with a well-researched POV on what the why might be from a 10-K or conversations you've had internally so you can lead with that and have it confirmed/denied
@Onyianyado777@thearsfam97 Barcola, Yildiz, Nico Williams, Diomande etc. There are options. Maybe we could buy Alvarez with cash + Jesus. If we don't then we go into season with worst attacking front 4 in CL (again) and worst in prem challengers by far.
Some things that have helped me:
- close eyes and imagine you're a plastic bag in the wind lol (like in American beauty - basically replay that scene)
- remind myself the plane is barely moving even though it feels like it's moving a lot
Former v nervous flyer now only slightly nervous when it gets really bad and I travel a lot of long haul
@andruyeung Nice. Wonder if some of the other non US ones are also like that. Curious about Buenos Aires and Stockholm. The Sydney one can get busy like US ones but they have a barista making excellent coffee to order and way better breakfast (Aus has incredible breakfast scene)
I love whispr flow, use it a lot. What would make it better:
- find it's great for dictation into AI where quality/spelling/grammar isn't super important. Think it's weaker if you're dictating an email response where grammar and punctuation is important
- being able to talk into it and then edit in real time (ie dictating and then "and I want this next section to be bullets") would be really helpful
Love the product
@BrianLaManna_ I did slightly longer but did 6 months after 10 years non-stop in London before I moved to NYC last year. Very grateful to have been able to do so and it was incredible
@ivanburazin Yep I do this too. Wouldn't say I never get jetlag but definitely generally fine when I travel - if massive time difference I might be out of whack an hour or 2 but nothing serious. Extra tip is avoiding main meals on planes/aligning eating with destination clock too
What are the best Notion resources around for how to turbo charge this thing? Have used for a while and have built some cool tables etc, but feel like I'm barely scratching the surface. Have it hooked up to Claude and it auto publishes my training/fitness data, it's now started pulling together content calendar etc. But have just noticed I can see my calendar meetings inside which I haven't noticed before. Any reccs?
@mikeddonatelli Love that. I've still got some more to stack at endurance level but also thinking of switching it up after that. Way less taxing and you can just rip it
Yep. Fittest I've ever been was Mallorca half iron man block. Ran a 1 30 off the bike and just felt like I had a huge engine. Ran a 1 28 in a pure half mara later in the year on way more run volume and was so shocked, couldn't understand why until I looked into the data. So many extra hours of engine building you just can't replicate on the legs (I'm also 6ft 3 and 200lbs)
Six months in New York. A few things thoughts in no particular order:
1) Payments infrastructure is genuinely shocking coming from the UK or Australia. Transfer between your own accounts - next business day. Weekends? Nothing moves. ACH runs through the Fed Reserve, which is closed Saturday and Sunday. Wild haha
2) New York is super compact. In London it's normal to commute for an hour to see friends. Here you can hit a tech event, VC drinks, go see a friend and then hit jazz - all in the same evening all 15-30 minutes away. That energy is hard to replicate when everything feels like it's on top of each other
3) People misunderstand Americans. Yes the caricature exists (PE Guy haha). But what I've actually noticed is people genuinely connect you, open doors, give advice - without the scarcity dynamic you feel more in London. Really refreshing as someone starting fresh somewhere new. Big abundant mindset culture
4) Healthcare is a world unto itself. Routine doctor visit, with insurance, $600 bill. Because hospitals charge what they can and insurance companies cover it. You hear about it. Still hits differently when you're in it
5) Brutal winter. Apparently worst in 10 years. Really wasn't ready. But spring is almost here and I can't wait to see what this city does when it warms up. There will be signs...
