Israeli occupation forces forcibly expelled elderly Palestinian woman, Umm Zuhri Shweiki, from her home in the Batn al-Hawa neighbourhood of Silwan, occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli forces surrounded the house, blocked access roads, seized the rooftop, and emptied the property of all contents before handing it over to Israeli settlers, citing ownership claims dating back to 1881.

The eviction is part of a broader campaign led by the Israeli settler group Ateret Cohanim, which claims 5 dunums and 200 square meters in Batn al-Hawa, threatening 87 Palestinian families with displacement.

Palestinian residents were prevented from approaching their home as Israeli settlers prepared to take over the home.
