Music ensembles bring young people so much joy, so much purpose, so much challenge, so much friendship, so much comfort, and so much meaning. Music ensembles are an essential part of our schools, and they are an essential part of the education of so many young people.
Making music with others is one of the many things that makes Music Education so special. The feeling of making music together is like a superpower - it makes you feel so special, so connected, and like you can achieve anything. The power of music should never be underestimated.
The Music Department is an alternate universe where pupils are often unrecognisable from who they are outside of it. The shy become confident. The agitated become calm. The lonely become included. The quiet become heard. And the lost become found. Music reveals the real child.
