A great insight into the @pembsproject. More focused testing (incl. Gamma), herd/slurry management, strict biosecurity & greater risk awareness (incoming undetected, infected cattle) bearing fruit. bTB is devastating. This is how to eradicate it.
@BadgerTrust@AnneatSaveMe
And we wonder why many farmers were oblivious to the risk of bTB being shed and passed on in cattle faeces, closed herds contaminated by visiting bulls and calves inheriting the disease from their mothers. Until a guitarist told them 🙄
@BadgerTrust@BadgerCrowd@AnneatSaveMe
This is where the thread ended. Petulant silence from @TheAHDB chief vet & @TB_Advisory spokesperson. A bTB "specialist" incapable of showing integrity or honesty & no true ally of farmers when it comes to fair, balanced advice. Unfit for purpose.
@BadgerTrust@AnneatSaveMe
It comes to something when senior professionals like @sjtomo157 at @TheAHDB knowingly parrot misleading statements as "fact" whilst pillorying organisations like @AnneatSaveMe for trying to make a difference. Shameful. A retraction and apology is the least we should expect.
Nonsense article by @FGJaneThynne in @FarmersGuardian citing "hasty rewrites" to the Brian May: The Badgers, the Farmers and Me documentary (tonight at 9pm on BBC2). No such rewrites have or will be undertaken. Enjoy the programme

There are two badger cull zones in Hampshire for which licenses were granted by @NaturalEngland last month AGAINST the explicit recommendation of its own Director of Science. Putting farmers wishes over the welfare of a protected species looks unlawful from every angle.
@FGRachaelBrown@ProagriLtd Then @ProagriLtd is misinformed. NOWHERE in the Birch report does it say bTB incidence is down by 56% due to badger culling. Even the @NaturalEngland Director of Science sees no justification for continued culling in 2024 and recommended against it. He's on here - ask him!

At the march, Emma Thompson speaks on the importance of restoring nature and how people need to come together to stop the 'disaster' before an election.
@huw4ogmore on Tuesday, "from 2012 to 2023, on the latest published data, the herd incidence in England decreased from 9.8 to 7.3, a 26% decrease.
In Wales, over the same period, herd incidence decreased from 10 to 6.8, a 31.3 % decrease."

@ShaneMcAuliffe1@pigworldmag Ahh you are the EU pig ambassador ? Why should perchance no other organisations be involved in this debatable cartel ? Hidden agenda ? Talking to Nature Scot's willing disciples of trap and eradicate ? Trust ? In Pig Worlds views I think not.
Today @BadgerTrust and Wild Justice have written to Defra - it’s about their ‘future Badger control policy’ consultation. We think it’s shockingly poor.

Good news: in spite of efforts by the toxic @EPPGroup and arrayed vested interests (industrial farming, forestry and fishing mostly), the EU Parliament has today adopted a Nature Restoration Law requiring the restoration of 20% of land and sea. https://t.co/9r8PzqC1Er
