Did you know that today, 15 October, was the International Day of Rural Women.
The day recognizes the vital role rural women play in agriculture, food security, rural development, environmental stewardship and poverty reduction. It was first observed by the UN in 2008.
Did you recognize that woman who sustains your rural community in producing food, caring for your family/community
Our food choices affect land, water, biodiversity and greenhouse-gas emissions. FAO says agrifood systems account for about one-third of human-made GHG emissions, while sustainable diets can help protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
Choosing more plant-based foods is one practical step toward SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption), SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
We need more conscious choices, less waste and a food system that respects people, animals and the planet.

Did you know?
Eating more plant foods and reducing animal-based foods can help lower greenhouse-gas emissions, land use and pressure on freshwater resources. It can also reduce the land needed for food production, creating more space for ecosystems and biodiversity.

Proud to share that I have successfully completed the 2026 Global Youth Climate Training (GYCT)
The training strengthened my understanding of climate policy, energy transition, climate finance, youth advocacy and climate action. Grateful to the Global Youth Coalition, Oxford Net Zero and the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment for this opportunity.
Now, I look forward to putting these lessons into action and continuing to amplify youth and frontline voices for climate justice.

We can all agree that, charcoal burning is one of the major reasons contributing to mass deforestation and worsening the climate crisis making us loses about 122,000 hectares of forest cover every year.
The demand for charcoal is too high.
Police can arrest everyone involved in charcoal business but its demand can never disappear.
Even though charcoal burning is not good for the environment, people depending it should not be punished.
As a country, Uganda must work together and make sustainable clean energy alternatives affordable, accessible and reliable to people at all levels. A just transition that protects forests and doesn’t leave the ordinary person behind.

Good morning, good people.
This is a clarion call to all of us to turn up in solidarity with @AloikinOpoloje as she appears for her bail hearing at Buganda Road Court tomorrow at 9:00 AM.
In moments like these, standing together sends a powerful message to the oppressor that we are ONE PEOPLE.
See you there!
Every developing city needs a sustainable ecosystem. Cutting down trees that sustain it does not amount to development; it undermines the very environment that supports urban life.
Why destroy green spaces?
Development must never come at the expense of our environment.
🚨 BREAKING: Shakirah Kasoga, a student activist with #RootedInResistance, has reportedly collapsed during a court hearing at Buganda Road Court amid concerns over her health after more than two months on remand at Luzira Maximum Security Prison.
The 14 activists have been remanded again. We demand their immediate release on bail and urgent medical attention for Shakirah and all those in need.
Detention must not come at the cost of their health and lives.

🧵A market without a marketplace.
In Kyakaboga, Hoima, a market built for oil refinery-affected families was handed over on 26 June 2025. The community, however, reports it unoperational.
Stagnant market activity. Poor roads. Resettlement without access to economic opportunity!

NO INDEPENDENCE TO CELEBRATE.
From a realistic humane-centric perspective, there is nothing for us as citizens to celebrate after 64 years of independence.
What exactly?
Unemployment? A crippled medical system? Corruption? Impunity?Lawlessness? Failed judicial system? Or family dictatorship as a whole?
As a youth of this generation, I don’t advise, request or beg the government to adjust in its way of doing things.
I demand a systematic change in operations in my country Uganda.
We never got independence, we just switched skin colors📌💯
Stop corruption, stop impunity, stop lawlessness and most importantly RESPECT FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.
