@sethmoulton God forbid the police dept or county sheriff is unable to deny people their rights, despite passing an extensive background check.
It's amazing to watch people who claim to be on the left defend may-issue permitting schemes that target black, brown, & working class NYers.
@OGNurseRatchet@MikeTango22202 He's been more effective at covering neoconservative corruption and warmongering than any of his peers. Including deserved criticism of Trump and his admin.
He's as legitimate as any contemporary journalist that I can name.
@JMKIII58@oldsoul314@esaagar It's corruption. Garden variety political corruption.
You think these companies are paying her 100K+ just to hear her bloviate? No, they're banking favors in case she can ever actually win an election.
@Christo77309767 @magi_jay @SeanCr8on @kristin__wilson I mean, we can simply look at N Korea, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria.
All of those regimes are still in power, while normal citizens starve or suffer.
@BruiserK @blakevw1 @OverTables @kristin__wilson @Ilhan What makes you think RU won't stop, other than what former spooks from the CIA have told you via cable news?
RU doesn't have the logistical legs to mount a campaign into NATO countries. Stop listening to pro war propaganda.
@BruiserK @blakevw1 @OverTables @kristin__wilson @Ilhan I feel like it's 2003 all over again and I'm being told we have to secure the WMDs, or else.
Russia doesn't want another NATO state on their border, and likely wants the resources in the Donbass.
They're not planning a grand tour of Europe.
@BruiserK @blakevw1 @OverTables @kristin__wilson @Ilhan Russia will win the war, either through attrition or capitulation. That's just the reality.
The answer isn't to punish the average Russian.
I know this sounds crazy, but we don't have to be involved in a conflict on the other side of the globe.
@magi_jay @SeanCr8on @kristin__wilson Punishing Russian citizens & working class people in the US via higher gas prices does absolutely nothing about the war in UKR.
It only makes things harder for those of us who work for a living.
A few principled politicians deemed moral grandstanding wasn't worth the cost.
@Ohons@AOC Yea, it's not that simple.
A lot of Republican voters are staunchly 2A or pro-life, so their elected officials aren't going to vote for a justice that will rule against those interests.
Just the way it is.
@MsfreudMzfreud @sc00717@AOC Lol, Bill Clinton is still an incredibly influential power broker in DC.
You can't throw a rock in the house or senate without hitting a chomo or serial philanderer.
@AOC You've fully embraced a party that includes a dude who flew on Epstein's plane 26 times.
I'd guess the list of politicians in either party who aren't engaging in that type of behavior is incredibly short.
@jsdpharmd Yes. Most realized that the dems have no intention of actually helping working class people.
The pandemic was the perfect opportunity to pass legislation that would truly help the average American. Instead, they lined their pockets making trades based on insider knowledge.
@KevinSixx13 Partially, because he made statements like "we're going to take your AR15s" in a state with one of the highest rates of firearm ownership in the nation.
@Saalko2 @ValidoHermano@PositivityTurtl @Carlists4Pete @yugopnik Renewables like wind, solar, & hydro are all far less efficient than nuclear at this point. Plants are being decommissioned because of disputes over waste disposal sites like yucca or the plants lifespan has elapsed, not because it's inefficient.
@Jo_LuvsDogs1 I’d take the pics and then call the cops. Many municipalities have ordinances about public decency, which includes the use of foul language and exposure to minors.
@AOC Elected to push M4A, increase wages for working class people, & challenge the establishment in Washigton, but got "yassss qweeen" & "there's a bigot under the bed" tweets instead.
What a massive disappointment.
