Can anybody explain with the SEND reforms - my son is entering reception in 2026 and we are in a middle school area so his transition year is y5 not y7 like “standard” so his reassessment will be 2031, he then moves AGAIN in y9 to secondary so will have to be reassessed TWICE?

How can Catherine Mckinnell say they are actively working with parents and listening to parents about changes to SEND, then turn all her comments off as parents are telling her to not scrap EHCPs? So you’re not listening then.

@senresourceblog we have JUST put in for my sons EHCNA , he’s 3 and the school want an EHCP in place ready for reception in a year . I am absolutely terrified of these changes and have been in a constant state of anxiety for weeks now not knowing if the government are going to scrap his support

Kier Starmer suspending rebel MPs just before the SEND reforms are announced is diabolical. Those MPs were rightly vocal in their concerns and objections around welfare cuts and now won’t get a chance to oppose SEND / EHCP reforms.
