Crash Test Joyride...
Ok guys I might go on a bit of a rant here but I just wanted to cover everything with CTJR.
I want to dicuss where things are at, and what our plan is moving forward. In order to do that i'll need to give a bit of back story.
Most of you already know our story but we've been seeing some new faces around and for those people I am going to give some context.
Again, forgive me because this may end up being a pretty long post.
So... CTJR started in 2022 and was founded by 3 individuals who have since handed over the project to the community. Now myself and my partner @ClaymondDantes own CTJR with the goal of continuing to build and expand.
It started as a streetwear focused NFT, the OG founders dropped an entire streetwear collection and then basically assumed they were done with the project. We as a community wanted more and they were nice enough to hand over the project. We were left with all of the assets and about 1eth to operate. There were about 5-7 members of the community who were helping run things but have since moved on.
That leaves me and Heist.
Our goal has always and will always be to bring attention to the NFT side of Crash Test with the hopes of increasing the value, which is what we all wanted from the start. The two of us, while we offer individual skills that can help CTJR, we do not know everything and we have ran into many many issues along the way. Some of which were out of our control and some of which were in our control.
At this point its been about 2 years since Heist and I have taken over CTJR and while we have accomplished some pretty awesome things we would wish that we could do more.
A few things we have done since taking ownership:
- Launched several clothing drops
- 13 Custom mixes
- Hosted 2 parties
- 1 Auto event
- Several smaller things with other projects
- Probably a few other things that I'm forgetting off top
What went wrong? How are we moving forward?
It's hard to say that anything really "went wrong" but the real question is "Why haven't we done more?"
I think one of our biggest flaws is that we try to do to many things at once and lose focus, rather than narrowing down quick deliverables, getting them out, then moving on to the next thing.
Another big factor is just lack of capital. We had an offer to raise some capital early on that we passed on. In hindsight, this was a mistake.
NFTs have been in a tough spot for some time now but that isn't deterring us from continuing to work on CTJR. The beautiful aspect of what we have is that there is a huge opportunity on the IRL side of things to grow and expand, and let that spill into the NFT side.
We've considered many things like dropping a coin, dropping a v2 etc. But we've always had the idea of keeping our collection sacred and felt like every other project were dropping coins and V2s just for a quick buck, we didn't want that. One of the side effects of us not doing that is it makes us look like were doing nothing. At the end of the day CTJR will always be a blockchain project and we neglected that aspect hoping that the IRL side would be valued by our holders.
The result is mixed opinions, some people love it, some people think we aren't doing anything.
My goal of this post is really to say that CTJR is not dead, its not dying, its not going away. Things may be slow and we have taken some actions to try to improve that. Crash Test is still here... 3 years later... we have over come what kills many projects and still have a community with us.
We have learned SO MUCH since weve started. We have overcome a lot more issues that people realize and we know how we need to move.
We have re directed our focus and created a list of deliverables that will be rolling out very very shortly.
We are going to take it 1 thing at a time and make sure we dont get ahead of ourselves.
For everyone that is still riding with us, THANK YOU! Its been a long journey so far and guess what... its not over yet.
To all the newer holders we welcome you and appreciate you joining us. We want nothing more than for CTJR to be a highly regarded NFT project.
For all those who have jumped ship, we get it, and you're always welcome back.
I'll be dropping another post in the next couple days with a more specific vision of what we are going to be doing moving forward.
If you made it this far, the first 3 people to DM @CrashTestJR the word "Racecar" I will send you one of our NFTs, whether you are already a holder or not.

Shout out to @mvxswell and @CrashTestJR
I absolutely love building with the OG collections from the NFT space - something different about those folks.
And shout out to @OutAux for connecting the dots!
