In the UK, Millie Taplin was attending her first nightclub on her 18th birthday when she was handed a drink by a stranger. The stranger handed her a vodka lemonade “Try this”

Millie took a sip.

Seconds later, her face went numb, her fingers curled into claws and her entire body stiffened like she was possessed.

She stayed fully conscious, trapped inside herself, writhing in agony and screaming in her head that she couldn’t move her body.

Rushed to hospital, doctors said she was likely dosed with two unknown drugs: one to paralyse her, one to knock her out. Tests couldn’t identify the substance.

Her mother later released footage as a warning: never accept a drink from stranger.

13-month-old baby boy Preston Davey was placed for adoption with a same-sex couple in Grimsargh. Within months, he was allegedly raped and killed.

Jamie Varley (36) faces murder, multiple sexual assaults on the child, cruelty, and extreme porn charges. His partner John McGowan-Fazakerley (31) also charged. Both plead not guilty. 

The trial starts this month in Preston Crown Court.

How did social services think this was a safe home for a vulnerable baby?

KIRK: “Yeah, so we believe Jesus gives us grace. So you get a prison sentence, you get judgment, you get mercy, you get less of a prison sentence. Grace would be Jesus serving that prison sentence for you so you could live life eternal.”

MAHER: “Well, how is he serving that? Oh, you mean like in the big picture?”

KIRK: “Well, because we believe him living a perfect life and then suffering the death that he did on the cross was him atoning for our sins. The sins of humanity. Which is a big claim, albeit a very compelling one, which we also believe to be true. Because it redeems all of humanity of our short-falling of the glory of God.”

MAHER: “I gotta say, it’s really picking up the check for the whole table. I mean, you gotta give it to your boy. For all of our sins? It’s a very generous thing. Very generous!”
