Teacher Appreciation Week: My favorite teacher would have to be a tie between my English teachers my junior and senior years of high school. The first opened my eyes to the complexities and beauty of writing while the second showed me a whole new way to think about it. #EDUC331
2/2... It doesn't help by overwhelming students with more assignments to make up for lost time. What matters is making the few assignments actually matter and be impactful in the students education. #EDUC331
1/2 @iamvlewis said "You weren't putting five grades in the grade book before Rona. . . why are you putting five grades in [now]"
This statement resonated with me as a student and as a preservice teacher. This is a stressful time for everyone... #EDUC331
While it's great we are working through remote learning together and finding ways to get together, we still need to keep in mind the privacy of our students-make sure apps are FERPA COPPA compliant and thoroughly vet what we send our students #EDUC331
With COVID-19 and everyone on remote learning, these assumptions about access have become real issues as school's are having to work around-and work quickly-the realization that not all students are able to work remotely #EDUC331
We often assume that students have the same access as teachers but this is dangerous. Data shows millions of students lack adequate access to digital tools. Teachers can combat this with access surveys at the beginning of the year. #EDUC331
@michaelmflood and @FCC say in 2019 somewhere between 5-12 million students were without adequate internet access. In an attempt to close this gap in my own teaching, Ill try to always make sure there are multiple ways to complete assignments or assist in getting access #EDUC331
@Bigler_Michelle A3: Hey #EDUC331, I found the student engagement bullet point to be the most important. While each one is significant, if you're not engaging your students then they aren't learning and then whats the point?
@Bigler_Michelle A1) Hey #EDUC331, I'm Noah Ferris. My experience with global learning is mostly from education class discussions on ways to integrate it into the classroom
@JDiamondGCC Awesome article! Not only do I feel like #MusicEducation has enriched my life, I think it also has greatly benefited all my studies. #pstpln
Hey #pstpln! Here's a great blog by Dana Huff: https://t.co/dFUXd6a7U7. In this post she discusses dealing with "radical" ideas in the classroom. Give it a read! #radicallove#EducationMatters
Hey #pstpln community! How do you find a balance between inspiring students to be socially and environmentally conscious agents without telling them what to believe? @DanWuori@NinaLeuzzi@winey02
Whats up #pstpln! Today I learned that when you design an education to the average student, you're really designing an education for no one. The average student doesn't exist! #celebratemonday
My name is Noah, I'm a second year English education major at CSU. I'm looking forward to building an electronic presence and learning from other educators through the five day #pstpln challenge.
