Relieved that I told Ian Bailey I knew he had murdered #SophieToscanduPlantier, and that I confronted him while he was still alive. Bailey fooled some people, but he didn't fool everyone. Story in today's @IrishMirror
Thanks to @Mickcliff for a great chat and exchange of views on his podcast. I've enjoyed Mick Clifford's reporting over the years in @irishexaminer, so great to have a friendly and open discussion with Mick today on the #SophieToscanduPlantier case: https://t.co/1SfKwJxryN
3/3 All this was robbed from her, for the sake of a man’s temper and a moment of unrestrained evil. I shed no tears for Bailey, a murderer who spent not a single day in jail for the vicious slaughter of a young mother. Today I pray for Sophie’s family, and I wish them strength.
2/3 Today, Sophie should be enjoying her retirement, playing with her grandchildren in the garden by the cottage at Toormore, breathing in the fresh, salty air. She should still be looking at the dry stone walls on the West Cork hills and thinking of lace draped over the land.
1/3 Put simply, Ian Bailey has gotten away with murder. I am sure Bailey killed Sophie TdP. I told him so – it was the very last thing I said to him. There will now be no justice for Sophie. Any lingering hope of a conviction on Irish soil died today with Bailey’s passing.
https://t.co/HtuswbCbTI Really excited to be appearing at the 'True Crime: Murder in Ireland' event at 8pm on Saturday 21st October at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght. I'll be taking a deep dive into the Sophie TdP case. Thank you @RedLineFestival and see some of you there I hope!
@BP66 Mr. Porter, my name is Nick Foster. I'm a true crime author based partly in Marbella, Spain. I'm interested in digging into the Pat Andrew case. Would you have time to talk, please?
2/2 Did he go around in a panic telling folks in Schull he'd done it? Were his hands and arms covered in fresh scratches the day after the murder? Did he give multiple different accounts of his movements on the night of this appalling crime? RIP Sophie, and may justice be served.
1/2 Jim Sheridan is doubling down on the French assassin theory @IrishMirror@IrishSunOnline in the Sophie TdP case. I'd love to debate Jim live to put this false lead to rest once and for all. For example, did the French person Jim dug up on the internet do any of the following:
2/2 First question for Mr Bailey: What were you doing between 11:10 and 11:55 on day after murder? Where were you? And what did you achieve by being there? How many other people know of your movements that morning? The murderer of #sophietoscanduplantier needs putting behind bars
1/2 Ian Bailey told @IrishSunOnline that he wants a professional who is “au fait” with the #sophietoscanduplantier case to help him make a podcast. I volunteer. I offer to pay for the production from my own pocket, it will not cost Mr Bailey a cent. But I get to ask the questions
Paperback of Murder at Roaringwater is out today. Big thanks to @TheMirrorBooks and @TheSohoAgencyUK. Grateful to Daily Mail for saying Roaringwater is "hauntingly beautiful, unputdownable... the definitive account of this case". RIP Sophie. A terrible crime that demands justice.
Savage murder of #sophietoscanduplantier has led to zero charges in Ireland. Is AGS dragging its feet? (It’s all about the crime scene on morning after the killing...) Still, I'm very hopeful that the murderer’s extraordinary run of good luck will end in the coming months. 2/2
https://t.co/FuLrvl8hfV The person with “close links to low-level drug dealing... which could have brought them into contact with the killer on the night Ms du Plantier died” relates to a properly explosive strand of evidence that Gardaí have known about for approx. 1 year. 1/2
https://t.co/SRBC0LfVVB Breaking this news in @IrishMirror is the saddest duty of my career as a writer. Now we need the whole truth to come out, not just part of it. And Sophie's family need justice, after 25 years of intense pain. RIP #sophietoscanduplantier
https://t.co/tXNMFftISm If you read this piece, please spare a thought or say a prayer for Sophie's grieving family. RIP #sophietoscanduplantier. Il est grand temps que justice soit rendue. I'll be back tomorrow with more.
Why has nobody been charged in Ireland in almost 25 years for the brutal and sordid murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier? Tune in to the Neil Prendeville show on Cork's Red FM tomorrow, Tuesday 14/12, at 9am for my views @NeilRedFM#sophietoscanduplantier
